ELDER~A Call to Serve

It is hard to describe the feelings of sheer excitement and also stress & anxiety we all felt as we waited for Will to receive his mission call.  With the change for all mission calls to be emailed instead of mailed as of 2019, the process had been very fast for his friends. As the weeks stretched on it seemed to take an eternity for Wills call to come.  I think he waited 2 1/2 weeks for that anticipated email to arrive in his inbox!  I remember how thrilling it was when he texted me after heading off to school, that his call had come!! We gathered as family and friends to support him that evening at 6:00pm!  Through nerves and shaking hands he read his call.....

Dear Elder Boehme:
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
You are assigned to labor in the Arizona Scottsdale Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 24 months. You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. You will prepare to preach the gospel in the English language.

Your purpose will be to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. As you serve with all your heart, might, and strength, the Lord will lead you to those who are prepared to be baptized.

The Lord will reward you for the goodness of your life. Greater blessings and more happiness than you have yet experienced await you as you humbly and prayerfully serve the Lord in this labor of love among His children. We place our confidence in you and pray that the Lord will help you become an effective missionary.

You will be set apart as a missionary by your stake president.

I love this group hug! What a special moment to capture!  As the oldest cousin on the Williams side, Will is setting such a great example for his younger siblings and cousins! 

We are very excited for our missionary, our Elder Boehme!

What a great challenge and blessing it will be to embark on his mission to serve the Lord!

We are blessed to have a son who is willing to sacrifice 2 years of his life, representing the Savior Jesus Christ while he serves the people of Scottsdale, Arizona!  

IT WILL BE THE BEST 2 YEARS FOR HIS LIFE!
